Blog #100: A Video and a Story about a Chair

Here’s a video post about our preparations for moving to Portugal. I hope you’ll find it moving, too.

I found a lovely spot outside Chamblee City Hall for this video. The mural at the top of the blog is located on another building nearby. We’re going to miss this diverse and inclusive community, but you’ll hear in the video how our readiness preparations continue for a move very soon.

And here’s the chair that is featured in my story. I think it has found a good home.

Note: I say in the video that I started my website and blog in late 2022. It actually began in November 2021. Time flies when you’re having fun.

Enjoy the video. And the photos below of the inclusively celebratory murals along the walking trails in our community of Chamblee. I especially like the way they even make the underbelly of one of the busiest overpasses in Atlanta attractive.

Thank you again for the birthday wishes!

  1. Dear Mike, what a sweet story and prayer. I almost teared up myself. I’d like to tell you a little story linking you and me. You may not remember my first email, sometime in June I think. I praised your book and thanked you especially for the info on Nacoochee Presbyterian Church. After several wonderful Sundays I decided to join. So I had dinner with some of the elders and deacons just prior to their session meeting. When I concluded my short introduction someone piped up, “You had us at ‘Mike Coleman'”. Everyone laughed. You and Ted must have been week loved. I remain grateful for your book and and that I finally found a place to worship. Best wishes for your adventures and much love through God, however you define him/her/it
