I’m happy to report that my coming-out memoir, THE WAY FROM ME TO US, has moved forward to short-list consideration in the 2022 Chanticleer book awards. See the full list here.
Based in Bellingham, Washington, Chanticleer is a company that supports fiction and nonfiction authors by offering manuscript reviews, writing conferences and workshops on publishing success. The annual awards program began in 2012.
I submitted my manuscript last February. Yesterday, I got news of the selection. The Journey Awards category recognizes narrative nonfiction works about overcoming adversity. There are some interesting titles on the list! I’m proud to be among them. And I’m tickled that my Nashville friend Lynette Ingram also made the list.
Meanwhile, I’m keeping fingers crossed for release of my book before the end of the year. Thanks so much for your interest. I really appreciate it.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
HEFTY congratulations on reaching the short-list plateau in the Chanticleer competition. I’m right proud to know you.

Thanks, Martin! Right back at you. (Is that a Southernism?)
