I heard from my editor this morning that the designer is working with this photo of Ted and me for the cover of my book. He requested a full-size jpg version of the shot I had copied and pasted into a form for the publisher some time back.
The photo is from our trip to Peru in May 2019. We were hiking through a salt farm in the Sacred Valley. A little warmup prior to our trip to Machu Picchu a few days later. Our trip director, now a good friend, too, took the shot.
Just wanted to provide you guys with a quick update. Progress is being made toward publication! Thanks so much for your interest.
Looks great but have them erase what looks like an electric line. It’s easy to do and would add to the photo -in my opinion.

Yes indeed, Phyllis. That bugs me, too, but Photoshop conquers all! At last report, the graphic artist was going to use the photo for an illustrative treatment. Can’t wait to see what happens next. These folks are good!

I received a proof of the cover this morning and they did exactly what you said, Phyllis! 🙂 I will do a “reveal” soon once it’s OK to release it, but for now I’m very pleased. The designer added a brushstroke effect to the background, so it has a painterly touch. Thanks for your interest. Hope you are doing well.
