
A professional writer for nearly 45 years before retiring in 2020, Mike Coleman won awards for news reporting and writing for nonprofit organizations and businesses in the technology industry.
As an independent writer, editor and branding consultant in the latter part of his career, he authored An Aquarium for Georgia: Commemorating the Construction of the Georgia Aquarium for the Brasfield & Gorrie construction firm.
He has also had a lifetime interest in creative writing. His short story Worse than Murder took Honorable Mention in Writer’s Digest’s 74th annual writing competition in 2005. Another story, The Night Watch, is featured in the “Stories Worth Talking About” section of the children’s story site Bedtime-Story.com.
A member of the Authors Guild, the oldest and largest association of published authors in the U.S., Mike is active in the Atlanta Writers Club and the Broadleaf Writers Association. He also is one of the authors in M’ville, a salon that nurtures and supports artists working in north Georgia. Founded in 2022, M’ville is named after Marthasville, the second name of three for the city of Atlanta. Mike and his husband live in Atlanta, Georgia.
